What Is PTSD?
PTSD can develop after any overwhelming event where you felt helpless, unsafe, or deeply threatened.
Trauma may come from:
- Abuse (emotional, physical, sexual)
- Accidents or medical emergencies
- War, disaster, or chronic stress
- Loss, neglect, or abandonment
Common PTSD symptoms include:
- Flashbacks or intrusive memories
