What Are Autism and ADHD?
ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder)
ADHD is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects:
- Attention and focus
- Impulse control
- Emotional regulation
- Working memory and task management
It can show up as hyperactivity, restlessness, forgetfulness, daydreaming, procrastination, or difficulty completing tasks — in both children and adults.
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Autism affects how a person processes sensory input, communicates, relates socially, and experiences emotions. It often includes:
- Sensory sensitivities (to noise, light, textures)
- Deep focus on specific interests
- Emotional overwhelm or meltdowns
- Difficulty with changes or transitions
- Differences in verbal and nonverbal communication
Every autistic or ADHD individual is unique. Our job is not to change them — but to help them thrive in their own way.
